Before proceeding, consider the following
Here are some tips to prepare you
Plan your teaching schedule
Have you decided what subject/s you would like to tutor?
When and where are you willing to tutor (locally or online)?
How much do you want to charge per hour?
Do you have your own personal insurance?
Having your own personal insurance is always a good idea because you are dealing directly with students. We highly recommend you consider it to cover you in case of any accidents.
Do you intend to teach students in Primary or High School?
If you intend to teach students under 18, you are legally required to apply for a PAID Working with Children Check Number (WWC).
Gather certifications and qualification documents
Students may ask for your qualifications so be sure to have them prepared to present to your students.
Police Check
Some students may want to make sure that they are conducting tutoring with someone safe. Conducting tutoring with a valid police check is highly recommended.
